Manotick Natural Market: Two Decades of Holistic Health in the Heart of the Village

Long before "wellness" became a buzzword, Manotick already had its own dedicated health food store and clinic — and it's still going strong more than 20 years later. Manotick Natural Market has quietly built one of the most complete holistic health offerings in rural Ottawa, all out of a single Main Street location.

What They Carry

The retail side of the store covers supplements, herbs, teas, homeopathic remedies, body care, salt lamps, and crystals — a genuinely broad range for a small-village shop. It's built around a simple philosophy: preventative wellness, education, and a personal, caring approach to helping customers find what actually works for them.

The Wellness Hub

Operating alongside the retail store is the Wellness Hub, offering nutrition counselling, live blood analysis, and holistic nutrition programs. It's run by Darpan Ahluwalia — known locally as the Total Nutrition Diva — who has spent more than two decades building the clinic into what it is today, after starting out working in her grandfather's natural products store as a teenager.

One of the store's signature products, My GoldenRoot™, is a fermented blend of organic turmeric, ginger, black pepper, oregano, and lavender, made in Canada — one example of the kind of in-house, locally developed products that have helped the shop build a following well beyond Manotick.

The recognition backs it up too — Darpan was named 2022's Ottawa Best Holistic Specialist by Faces Ottawa, and the shop has picked up a Top Choice Award along the way.

Darpan's also one of the hosts behind The Garden Party on the Rideau 2026 on August 5, a village fundraiser supporting The Ottawa Hospital Foundation — one more example of how deeply woven into the community this business really is.

Whether you're after a specific supplement or looking for a longer-term wellness plan, this is one of those Manotick businesses that's been quietly doing the same thing well for a very long time.
